I found i'm most down and anxious when I'm stuck in my own thoughts all day with nothing to do. I'm working on changing that around. I've just booked an appointment with WINZ to set me up with a temporary benefit and job support. I've applied and been accepted to a business administration course which I'm looking forward to. These things should keep me busy. I always found it helpful to set goals - It feels so rewarding once you achieve them! Hopefully things will start looking up soon. Crossing my fingers.

Good on you Amy, different strokes for different folks. Working out what's right for you is the best idea. Sometimes I like a goal, other times I feel it sets me up for failure and that concerns me. So I pick and chose whether I will chose a goal or not. But I think mood plays a part too.
If the suns out, its great to be out doors achieving stuff in the garden etc. in the winter indoors, harder to feel motivated let alone get 'stuff' done indoors. I don't think we prepare enough for winter blues.
When does your course start and how long is it?

When the suns out I feel happiest but like you said, we don't prepare ourselves for the winter blues! My course starts at the end of July - It ends in December. I hope I'm successful with it. I really want to excel and be good at something and prove to myself I'm not just 'nothing'. I want to be something.

I don't know anyone who's a 'nothing' quite impossible really. Silly you. But if its this 'something' you want to add to your itinery, then I'm betting if you put your all into it, then of course you will succeed.

You're right. I'll just do my best and try not to focus too much on what the future might hold. I always seem to think "oh even if I do well at my course I still won't find a good job" blah blah blah. I really shouldn't sell myself so short though.
